Frederick Delgado “Fred,” age 71 of Fairfield, CT, entered into heaven on Friday, April 8, 2022, at his residence, with his best friend and wife Susan Pendagast by his side.
Fred worked many years as a chef at Westport Health Care and then at Brookdale Senior Living of Wilton until his retirement. Fred was a distinguished sergeant in the U,S. Army for more than 20 years Quiet and loving Fred enjoyed spending time with family and friends, most notably “his boys”. Fred was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, to the late Eusebio and Teodosa Velasquez Delgado.
After a brief illness Fred is reunited with his parents and siblings John Delgado, Abigain Delgado Decaro, Wilfredo Delgado and Margarita Delgado. Fred is also survived by his three sons Joseph and Michael Delgado of Fairfield and Robert of New Hampshire; his brothers, Philip Delgado Ramon Delgado, Moises Delgado; sister Gloria Delgado Breeden. Fred also had many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends that will cherish his memory.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. His funeral will take place on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home followed by burial with military honor.
