Robert Paul Golden

Robert Paul Golden, 86, of Enfield, CT passed away at Hartford Hospital on Monday, April 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on April 28, 1937 in Hartford to Matthew James and Jean (Dellay) Golden. He graduated from Hall High School and grew up in West Hartford before moving to Enfield in 1963. He spent 37 years in the Army National Guard, full-time with 712 Heavy Maintenance in Windsor Locks as CW4 Technician. After he retired, he did landscaping for 2 years. Robert spent a lot of time tending to his garden. When he wasn’t tending to his garden, he was playing golf with his buddies. On Sundays, he always played golf with his daughter Karen. He loved going to his children and grandchildren’s sporting games and was their number one fan. His favorite teams were the New York Giants and the UCONN Men’s Basketball.
Robert leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Beverly (Gatzen) Golden; his four children, Lori (John) Paterson of Southington; his son, Robert Jr. of Windsor Locks; his daughter, Karen Golden Deni of Enfield; his daughter, Patricia (Chris) Hubbard of Mill Valley, CA.; his sister, Alyce Hestad of Georgia; his sister-in-law, Anne Golden of Rutherford, CA; five grandchildren, Mike Maier, Kelly and Kaitlin Paterson and Sydney and Owen Hubbard, as well as, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Matt Golden and his brother-in-law Einas Hestad. A big thank you to everyone in the Conklin Bldg. 3rd floor, who helped our family through our saddest moments.
