Robert Lawrence Peck OBITUARY

With the heaviest of hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Lawrence Peck, 87, of Kensington, CT. Born on June 12, 1937, to the late Lawrence John Peck and Florence Feeley, Bob grew up in West Hartford, graduating from Hall High School and the UCONN School of Business. It was there that he began his journey in the United States Army ROTC Military Police program. Through dedication, perseverance, and countless hours of hard work, he rose through the ranks to become a Lieutenant Colonel (O5 MP), retiring after 36 years of honorable service. Bob approached everything in life with unwavering commitment.

Following his retirement, he devoted 15 years as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Paul Church in Kensington, continuing his lifelong mission of service. In 1962, Bob met the love of his life, Marie, at a Catholic Singles Dance—a moment that would define the rest of their lives. They were married on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 1963, and their love story only grew from there. Within the next several years, they built a beautiful family together, welcoming six children. Together, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Bob enjoyed a successful career in pharmaceutical sales, much of it in the contact lens industry. But with six children to provide for, one job wasn’t enough. He also worked as an instructor for the United States Army and as a security guard at the Hartford Civic Center, where he had the privilege of witnessing countless Hartford Whalers games and even seeing his favorite, the King of Rock & Roll, Elvis Presley, four times! Bob’s greatest legacy is the incredible family he and Marie built together.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years, Marie Melluzzo Peck, his six children, fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Children: Lawrence and daughter-in-law Mai, Robert, Connie Ann, Christopher (Karen), Theresa and son-in-law John Bourgoin, Daniel and daughter-in-law Ofelia. Grandchildren: Samantha, Tina, Guy, Jimmy, Mikaela, Matthew, Jenna, Leah, Jessie, Colin, Megan, Alex, Jonathan and Sarah. Great-grandchildren: Rocco, Nora, Myla, Caleb, Little Sam, and Julia. Dad, you were our rock, our protector, and our guiding light. Your love and legacy will live on in all of us. We will love and miss you forever.
