Everton Orlando Codling, Jr., 43, of Windsor and formerly of Bloomfield, passed away Friday, June 5, 2026, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Windsor. Born in Hartford on February 18, 1983, son of Everton Orlando Codling, Sr. and Paulette Eleta Barrett, he was raised in Hartford, Bloomfield, and Windsor, and attended Bloomfield and Windsor Public Schools and was a graduate of Windsor High School. As a young man, Everton was raised in a Christian home and was taught the principles of Christian living. As a result, he grew up to be a kind, caring, and fun person.
While he was in high school, Everton decided he wanted to serve his country. After graduation, Everton enlisted in the US Army and served in Iraq during the Global War on Terror until his honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant in 2023. He continued serving in the Connecticut Army National Guard and at the present time was an aviation technician full-time at the National Guard Base in Windsor Locks. Over his 27 years of service in the US Army and in the Army National Guard, Everton met many wonderful people and enjoyed everyone he worked with.
Everton’s passion and dream of serving his country as a soldier led him to be a proud veteran who was determined to serve until he retired from his life’s work…however, life had other choices.
In his spare time, Everton enjoyed playing video games, reading his favorite books, and riding his motorcycle. He was known for always wearing a hat and for enjoying time relaxing at his home with his family. He loved fancy cars and had a few of them over the years, he travelled extensively during his time in the military serving in Kentucky, Texas, Iraq, and Africa. Most of all, Everton will be remembered for his love of family and friends. He was the life of every party and will truly be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his parents, Everton “Paul” Orlando Codling, Sr. of Windsor and Paulette Eleta Barrett of Bloomfield; a son, Alden Codling of Hartford; a sister, Andrea Williams and her husband Anthony of Windsor; two nieces, Asia and Amia Williams of Windsor; his maternal grandmother, Doris Barrett of Westchester, NY; three maternal aunts, Lorna Cohall of Montego Bay, Jamaica, Clova Robinson and her husband Bryan of Yonkers, NY, and Annett Barrett of Scarsdale, NY; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
