On October 9th, on a beautiful, crisp, and cool Thursday morning, 120 golfers arrived at Stanley Golf Course in New Britain, Connecticut, for the 2025 NGACT Open Golf Tournament. The annual tournament is held in late summer/early fall, and the proceeds benefit the NGACT scholarship fund. Every year, NGACT awards four $1k scholarships to high school and college students continuing their education after high school. When the golfers arrived to register, they were greeted by our own Adjutant General MG Francis Evon, who also serves as President of the Adjutants General’s Association of the United States. MG Evon assisted in selling raffle tickets and some of our “extras”. After some brief opening remarks from our NGACT President, Katie Zarzycka, it was time for our contest to begin. It was a beautiful day for golf; the course was in great shape, and the play did not disappoint. There was almost a hole-in-one, and the winners came in at an impressive 15 under par. The day ended with dinner and a raffle that featured some great prizes, from a four-pack of Hartford Yard Goat tickets to a 55” TV. What a great day for us all to come together for a great cause and have some fun. Hope to see you again next year.
Fore!
