Last week, I had the opportunity to attend the EANGUS Legislative workshop alongside our Vice President, Emma Faucher, and our Secretary, Camryn Rawlings. These workshops are incredibly valuable to our association, offering relevant training and guest speaker panels organized by the National Office. These sessions educate attendees, enabling them to better serve their associations.
During the workshop, the EANGUS legislative team discussed the current legislative priorities that the association has developed from resolutions voted on during last year’s conference in Detroit. We visited the Capitol and engaged with our Representatives about various legislative initiatives. Our focus was on the GI Bill Parity Act, Richard Starr Act, Tricare for All, Tricare extension for young adults, and retention bonuses for dual status technicians. These bills aim to reduce the disparity between traditional guardsmen and our active duty counterparts.
Workshops like these are crucial for our association as they provide us with the opportunity to have our voices heard.
