Norwich – David Louis Blackburn, passed away at Elmbrook Village April 4, 2024. David was born Oct. 15, 1952, in Norwich, the son of the late Richard W. Blackburn Sr. and Marie E. (Bradlaw) Blackburn. He married Jean Carol (Leclair) Sept. 30, 1989. She survives him.
He had served full time in the U.S. Army Nation Guard, where he worked in logistics. He was a veteran of Operation Desert Storm.
In addition to his loving wife Jean, he is survived by his sons, Shawn Blackburn and his wife Patricia, Matthew Blackburn and his wife Angelica and Eric Blackburn and his wife Samantha; by his brothers: John Blackburn, Richard Blackburn, Carl Blackburn Jr. and his wife Phyllis and Jay Blackburn; by his sisters, Rose Fratoni and her husband Joseph and Faith Coleman and her husband Mark; by his brother-in-law Frank Dion; by his grandchildren, David, Hunter and Chase Blackburn, and by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at the Church and Allen Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 12, at the Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem Street, Norwich. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Norwich.
