SFC (Ret) Edward Whalen

Edward “Ed” Whalen, 61 of Trumbull, CT lost his battle with cancer and passed away Friday, December 9, 2022 surrounded by his family. He is the son of Edward Whalen III and Betty Crandell. He is a Veteran of the United States Army and Army National Guard and was currently working at his second home, the Trumbull Mobil Service Center, White Plains Road, Trumbull, CT. Anyone who knows Ed knows that he is the type of man who would do absolutely anything for anyone. He was entirely in a class of his own. He had many talents jack of all trades and master of all. He loved working with electronics, cars and anything else that put his mind to the test. We always said “Its not broken unless daddy cant fix it.” He adored all animals but had a very special love for his Shepard, Kobe. Family and friends meant everything to him and he always looked out for and protected them with his very core. To have Ed on your side was to know that you were safe.

Survivors include his wife Launa Whalen, his son Eddie Whalen (Jovanna), his daughter Launa Riley (William), his son Nicholas Whalen, Malcolm Hayes (Leah), three grandchildren Joshua, Liam, and Xander and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, December 17, 2022 in St. Theresa Church 5301 Main St. Trumbull, CT with a Mass of the Christian Burial. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers and to honor Eds memory, donations to help cover medical expenses and services are greatly appreciated.
