CW5 (RET) Ronald A. Tetreault
Roland Alva (Tate) Tetreault, 83, of Dayville, Connecticut, went home to be with the Lord on February 26, 2022. Roland was born on October 21st, 1938 in Putnam, CT., to the late Armand and Eva (Brousseau) Tetreault. Roland graduated Putnam High School and joined the U.S. Army National Guard at eighteen years old where he served for forty-three years retiring as a Warrant Officer 5. He was very proud of his service to our country. Roland was a life time member of the Knights of Columbus, always volunteering his time when needed. He was co-founder of the St. Mary’s Circle of Fun and a devout parishioner of St. Mary’s Church. Roland was a very respected man of the community. In 1962, he met his soulmate, Gloria Jacob. They raised their family in Putnam, CT and in 1982, moved to Lake Alexander in Dayville, CT where he loved to sail, fish, ride his bike and relax by the water. Roland was a snowbird and would spend the winter months in Zephyrhills, FL where he enjoyed the warm weather and would play golf with his wife Gloria. He loved spending time watching all of his grandchildren’s sporting events and being their biggest fan.
A devout family man, he is survived by his wife Gloria of fifty-eight years, his two sons, Mark R. Tetreault Sr. and fiancee Tracey Dunn, Timothy Tetreault and wife Elizabeth, six grandchildren, Mark II and wife Melinda, Anthoney, Olivia, Alexandra, John and Kiernan and two great grandsons, Liam and Jack. Roland was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on May 14th at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Putnam with full military honors.
