Military MWR Facilities (Copied from a newsletter from “Stephanie at Poppin’ Smoke.”)
Space-A flights aren’t the only fun benefit you can use to make the most of your time off. The military has recreational lodging facilities all over the world, ranging from RV parks to beach cabins to luxury hotels. Read more about them here.
To get you started, here are 17 military recreational facilities in the United States.
Living outside the continental U.S.? Here are 10 OCONUS facilities, including Hawaii and Alaska.
Also, if you live within driving distance of a military base, remember that you can use their MWR facilities, such as the marina, golf course, beach, or pool (as applicable). While here in the Chicago area, I look forward to renting a boat or kayak from the marina at Naval Station Great Lakes!

About the Retiree Bulletin:
I’m sure you noticed that this bulletin, as well as the last one, come through in a different format.
In the past I’ve been subject to the guidelines established by Gmail. To follow their guidelines and avoid getting “blacklisted” by them meant it took me two, sometimes three days to send out a bulletin.
Enter The National Guard Association of Connecticut (NGACT). They have assumed the job of distribution of the bulletin. I email them a bulletin on the 1st and the 15th of each month and they are able to send them out to all the Retirees on my distribution list as well as members of NGACT in one shot.
My thanks to BG Ralph Hedenberg, CPT Mark Soltau and the father son team of Ken Bruno Sr and Jr for setting this up.
I would like to still get input for bulletins from you. If you have info that would be important, (or just interesting), for Retirees continue to email them to me at ngretiree@gmail.com.
